Tour 2

 

Day1: Addis Ababa (The new Flower)

Arrive in the morning at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and transfer to your hotel. The journey starts with a tour of the capital city Addis Ababa, literally means “New Flower”. Addis Ababa is Africa’s undisputed diplomatic capital. Ethiopia is one of the world's oldest civilizations and you will have a chance to see the ancient artefacts on display at the National Museum. Archaeological exhibits include the 3.5 million-year-old fossil of Lucy a hominoid woman of the specious of Australopithecus Afarensis. Next stop: Holy Trinity Cathedral Church - massive and ornate cathedral is the second-most important place of worship in Ethiopia. Then Entoto hills to get the birds eyes panoramic view of the capital and surrounding countryside and St. Mary church and museum in a century long Church. Overnight: Hotel.

 

Day2: Lalibela (The Eighth Wonder of the World)

Fly in the morning to Lalibela, transfer to the hotel for check-in. The City of Lalibela is located in the northern mountains of Ethiopia, and is known for the globally famous monolithic rock-hewn churches. These ancient churches are believed to be over 850 years old.  The city is surrounded by spectacular landscapes. Built by Saint Lalibela of Ethiopia, the eleven churches are all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The next morning you will visit the cluster of the first group churches located north of the Jordan River, including the famous church of St. George which is carved like a cross out of the red rock. After lunch at the hotel second cluster of the amazing rock hewn situated south of the Jordan River. Overnight:  Hotel.

 

Day 3: Asheten Mariam church

Take an excursion Asheten Mariam church found on top of a hill straight after breakfast. Arrive back around mid-day and visit the remaining 5 rock hewn churches. Afterwards you'll be invited for a coffee ceremony in one of the traditional houses. Overnight: Hotel.

 

Day 4: Addis Abeba 'Mercato’

Fly back to Addis Ababa. Visit Africa's biggest market Merkato and enjoy a day of shopping in the city. Later that evening you will fare way party in one Ethiopian traditional restaurant where you can see cultural music and dance. Overnight: Hotel

 

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast transfare to the airport for departure.
