Day 01: Arrival Addis Ababa (The new flower)

You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel before staying overnight in Addis.


Day 02: Sightseeing Addis Ababa (The new flower)

Your journey begins with a drive up to mount Entoto for a panoramic view of the city. At 3,200 meters in elevation, Entoto Hill is sort of the roof of Addis Ababa. You will then visit the National museum where you will have a chance to spot the oldest hominids of ‘Lucy’ fossil, Holy Trinity built during the WWII and the Ethnographic museum which use to be the palace of Emperor Hailesellase. Spend your afternoon shopping in the city and visit Merkato the biggest open market in East Africa. Overnight in Addis.


Day 03:  Fly Addis – Bahir Dar (Lakeside Town)

Fly to Bahar Dar and begin your trip with a half day boat cruise over Lake Tana for a visit 14th century ancient island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mehret which is the most famous of the Zege peninsula monasteries. That afternoon drive 35 km to the village of Tis Isat to see the majestic Blue Nile Falls and spend the night in Bahir Dar.


Day 04: Drive Bahir Dar – Gondar

The next morning start your journey to Gondar. The Royal Capital of Ethiopia, Gondar was founded in 1636 by Emperor Fassiladas. Spend the afternoon in the city of Gondar and see the most famous castles and churches, fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie (The Enlightening of Trinity) with Wonderful murals art, Qusquam Church. Overnight stay Gondar.


Day 05: Excursion to Simien Mountains (122 km; 4 - 5 hrs drive)

Drive to Buyit Ras in the Simein Mountain to see the most wild and magnificent views of the Ethiopian landscapes. Known as the “Roof of Africa” and ranked as one of the continent’s most beautiful mountain ranges. The Simien Mountains National Park is the only place in Ethiopia registered by the UNESCO as a natural beauty. Observe the magnificent scenery and stay overnight.


Day 06: Fly Gondar - Lalibela (The Eighth Wonder of the World)

In the morning fly to Lalibela. ‘Eighth wonder of world Heritage’ Lalibela is famous for its underground rock-hewn cathedrals which are believed to be over 850 years old. Built by Saint Lalibela of Ethiopia, the eleven churches are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit some top attractions of Lalibela before staying overnight.


Day 07: Excursion to Asheton Mariam

Go on an excursion to the monastery on top of a hill, Asheten Mariam church. Walk back to Lalibela and spend the afternoon visiting the remaining rock hewn churches which include Bete Gabriel/Rafael, Bete Mercorios, Bete Emmanuel and Bete Aba Libanos. Sleep overnight in Lalibela.


Day 08: Fly Lalibela - Axum (Mysterious Monoliths)

Fly into Axum, a town renowned for the world’s tallest monoliths. A city more than 2500 years of history, once the centre of a great empire and ancient civilization, home of the original Ark of covenants, Axum is the central historical site in the north of Ethiopia. Take a city tour that include the St. Mary’s Church, the sanctuary Chapel which is the repository of the ‘Ark of covenant’, the coronation yard, Stelae Park, Tomb of Kaleb and his son Gebre Meskel, Ezana’s Inscriptions, Queen of Sheba’s Bath, Queen of Sheba’s palace ruins and Axum Museum. Overnight in Axum.


Day 09: Fly Axum – Addis – Drive Langano

Spend the morning flying back to Addis Ababa and drive further down southwards to Langano. Visit Lake Ziway the largest of the upper Rift Valley lakes with an area of 400 sq. km and Lake Langano, a place to enjoy water activities. Sleep overnight in Langano.


Day 10: Drive Langano - Chencha - Arba Minch

Drive to Arba Minch. Visit Dorze village and meet Dorze tribe - once warriors, nowadays they are expert in weaving called Shammas, famous for their cotton woven cloths and beehive huts. Explore the bamboo huts called elephant foot where Dorze people live and try the delicious banana bread which is the stable food for these peoples. Stay overnight in Arba Minch.


Day 11:  Drive Arba Minch - Konso – Jinka

Set out on a boat cruise on the Lake Chamo, the third biggest Lake in Ethiopia where you'll have a chance to see the Nile crocodiles, hippos and different types of birds. Our next stop isthe Konso village, one of the UNESCO site in Ethiopia know by their terracing and the best coffee in the country. You'll visit the Bana village and meet indigenous pastoral and semi-nomadic Bana people living in the harsh environment of Omo Valley. Then drive to see Ari people, the largest population in the lower Omo Valley before staying overnight in Jinka.


Day 12: Drive Jinka – Mago – Jinka – Turmi

Take a days excursion to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village. The Mursi are one of the exotic ethnic groups in Ethiopia. They live in very low huts made of straw leaves. The women like to wear terra cotta on their enormously stretched lower lips and ear lobes. Drive back to Jinka for lunch and you'll then proceed to the Turmi where the Hamer people live. stay overnight in Turmi.


Day 13: Excursion to Murulle and Nyangatom

It's now that you will drive to Murulle to meet the Karo People.  Karo Tribe is very famous for body decoration - they paint their bodies and faces with white chalk to prepare for a ceremony. You'll then drive 17 km away from the Murulle area to meet Nyangatom people. The Nyangatom women wear numerous necklaces and long richly decorated skirts from goatskins. Later attend the colourful market of Dimeka and meet Hammer people before spending the night in Turmi.


Day 14: Drive Turmi – Yabello

The next morning drive to Yabello passing through the Arebore and Tsemay village. The Tsemaye women are well known for having tattoos on their face. They braid their hair in a number of different eye-catching styles and wear beautiful beads around their necks. You will then proceed to visit the Borena people and spend the night in Yabello.


Day 15: Drive Yabello – Yirgalem

Today you will drive to Yirgalem passing through the coffee plantation and stay in Turmi


Day 16: Drive Yirgalem – Addis – Departure

In the morning drive to the town of Awassa and visit the fish market around the Lake Awassa. Then drive back to Addis for sightseeing. Spend the evening at a folkloric dinner where you will have a chance to taste several national dishes, watch dances of the various ethnic groups of Ethiopia and experience the traditional coffee ceremony. Later you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
