Day1: Addis Ababa (The new Flower)
Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, “welcome to Ethiopia!” The journey starts with a tour of the capital city Addis Ababa, literally means “New Flower”. Addis Ababa is Africa’s undisputed diplomatic capital. Visit the National Museum that exhibits numerous antiquates, historical relics, archaeological and pale-ontological objects including the 3.5 million year old skeleton of Lucy; one of the fine Ethiopian Orthodox Churches, St. George Cathedral that contains several interesting modern paintings and mosaics St. George Cathedral; the commanding panoramic view point Mount Entoto which offers the stupendous view of the city and St. Mary church and museum in a century long Church. Day2: Bahar Dar (Lakeside Town)
In the morning fly to Bahar Dar and then transfer to Kuriftu Resort and Spa. Begin your trip with a half day boat cruise over Lake Tana for a visit 14th century ancient island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Mayam. In the afternoon drive 35 km to visit the majestic Blue Nile Falls. Overnight: Hotel
Day 3: Gondar (The Camelot of Africa)
After breakfast drive to Gondar. Gaze down from the balconies of the many castles and palaces to imagine the intrigue and pageantry that took place back in the 17th and 18th centuries of this great city. The Gonder castle compound includes number of palaces. The most famous buildings including: Fasilides Castle, Mentewabs Castle, Iyasus Palace and Dawits Hall Palace. Come back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon visit the Debre Birhan Selassie (The light of Trinity church) with wonderful murals art, Qusqam church and Mentwab palace. Overnight: Hotel
Day 4: Lalibela (The Eighth Wonder of the World)
Fly to Lalibela, up on arrival transfer to hotel - 26 km. The City of Lalibela is home for the world famous monolithic rock-hewn churches which are believed to be over 850 years old. Built by Saint Lalibela of Ethiopia, the eleven churches are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In the morning you will visit the cluster of the first group churches located north of the Jordan River, including the famous church of St. George which is carved like a cross out of the red rock. After lunch at the hotel second cluster of the amazing rock hewn situated south of the Jordan River. Overnight: Hotel.
Day 5: Axum (Mysterious Monoliths)
In the morning fly to Axum, a town renowned for the world’s tallest monoliths and more than 2500 years of history. Visit the palace and tomb of King Kaleb (6th C, AD), the extraordinarily Stella’s filed (WHS) and Tomb of King Remhay (1st to 4th C, AD). Next stop is the church of St Mary of Tsion, (17th C, AD the present church) in which is deposited the Arc of the Covenant. Then drive out 4km of the town for a short walk to see rock carved lion and palace from where the Stella were hewn; some still lie there, half finished. Then visit the palace of queen of Sheba and late in the afternoon come back to your hotel. Overnight: Hotel.
Day 6: Addis Ababa
Fly back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy shopping in the city and visit Mercato the biggest open market in Africa. Overnight: Hotel.
Day 7: Addis Ababa –Dire Dawa /Harar
In the morning an hour flight takes you to Dire Dewa. Upon your arrival, drive to Harar, the Holy City of Ethiopia's Muslim community, which is believed to be the forth-holiest city after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. The old City Wall of Harar built in 16th century by Andre people is the main attraction and symbol of Islamic architecture. Visit the National and Harari museums, the house of Ras Mekonnen (father of Haile Selassie) and a traditional Harari home. Overnight: Hotel
Day 8: Harar
Take an excursion to the Babile Elephant Sanctuary via the "Valley of Marvels," a region of spectacular rock formations. Take a side trip to visit homes in the cliff-top village of Koremi. Visit the market in Hajifaj. In the evening see one of Harar's main attractions - the "Hyena Man" feeding the hyenas that gather nightly outside the town. Overnight: Hotel
Day 9: Harar -Addis Ababa
Early in the morning drive back to Dire Dawa to catch your flight back to Addis Ababa. Later in the evening you will join one of the famous Ethiopia traditional Houses for dinner and enjoy Ethiopian traditional music and dance. Overnight: Hotel
Day 10: Departure
Transfer to Airport after breakfast for departure.
