Discover Hastings

Hastings is a small village and beach resort located on the south-west coast of Barbados in the parish of Christ Church. Once a small fishing village, it is now a popular resort with beautiful white sandy beaches dotted with palm trees and beach bars, and is home to Barbados’s largest boardwalk which leads all the way to nearby Rockley Town. Hastings town is filled with malls, restaurants, souvenir shops and English tea rooms.

Hastings Macro 1

Take an afternoon walk along the South Coast Boardwalk connecting Hastings’ Beach to Rockley Beach, 2 of the best beaches in the area, and take in the beautiful bandstand, kids play areas and picnic spots. The Boardwalk is the best place to enjoy the sunset. Walk 5 minutes from Hastings’ beach to Rockley beach with beautiful white sand and coconut trees. There are fantastic windsurfing and snorkelling spots here and it is also child friendly. After a fun-filled morning, grab a bit of lunch at one of the Italian or Chinese restaurants in the area. Drop into Mallalieu Motor Collection and Car Museum and marvel at these fascinating vehicles of which each one has its own story. Go with the kids and hang out at the Art Splash Fun Centre, which is a community art centre, café, gallery, play park, farmers market and has the best natural juice and lunch in Barbados. Drive 5 minutes out to Bridgetown for some sightseeing and shopping, and to finish your day off drive 5 minutes in the other direction for an evening out in any of the fun bars, clubs, inns and resorts in St Lawrence Gap.

Hastings is a great holiday destination for every type of traveller, from families and groups to couples on their honeymoon. There is plenty to do and see here, with accommodation options to suit every budget.
