I recently had the incredible opportunity to explore Dubai on a FAM trip. From our departure at Dublin Airport to our return home, every detail was perfectly arranged, ensuring a seamless and thoroughly enjoyable journey. The trip was not only well organised but also offered valuable insights that made the experience both smooth and enriching. It was a truly memorable opportunity to discover Dubai and to gain a deeper appreciation of its appeal as a world-class destination.

Location

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is conveniently located just 14 kilometres (about 9 miles) from Downtown Dubai. By car, the journey takes as little as 13-15 minutes, while the Dubai Metro offers a scenic and budget-friendly alternative, taking around 40 minutes. During our recent FAM trip, we had the pleasure of spending two nights each at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Kempinski The Boulevard, while exploring many of Dubai’s most captivating and unforgettable attractions.

What I Loved

Dubai is a city where tradition and innovation sit side by side. It’s home to some of the world’s most recognisable landmarks, from the record-breaking Burj Khalifa and the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab to the man-made wonder of Palm Jumeirah and the dazzling Dubai Fountain. Beyond the architecture, there’s a distinctive atmosphere that blends year-round sunshine with style, energy, and a sense of possibility. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, Dubai has a way of leaving a lasting impression and drawing travellers back time and time again.

Activities & Places to See

Jumeirah Beach Hotel: A truly iconic experience, featuring a stunning beachfront location, exceptional service, and beautifully designed rooms. The property blends luxury with comfort, and the views of the Burj Al Arab from the resort were simply breathtaking. The Associate Director of Sales kindly gave us a guided tour of the hotel, showcasing the various room types and key facilities on offer.
Atlantis, The Palm: Located at the apex of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, this world-famous luxury resort offers stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyline, spacious sea-inspired rooms and suites, and daily access to Aquaventure World and The Lost Chambers Aquarium.
Aquaventure World: The world’s largest waterpark, where over 105 record-breaking slides, attractions and experiences span 22.5 hectares of fun. Aquaventure World is ideal for families with children, adventure seekers, couples and solo travellers - basically anyone looking for a mix of adrenaline and relaxation!
Museum of the Future: One of Dubai’s most striking landmarks, this museum takes visitors on an immersive journey to the year 2071, blending science, technology, and imagination. Each floor offers a different experience; from exploring future space missions and biodiversity in the DNA library to walking through a mixed-reality Amazon rainforest, discovering cutting-edge innovations in health and sustainability, and even engaging children in interactive missions at the Future Heroes zone.

Shopping & Nightlife

Dubai is a dream destination for shopping and nightlife. By day, you can explore the vast Dubai Mall, home to hundreds of stores, restaurants, and even an aquarium, or wander through traditional souks where gold, textiles, and spices fill the air with colour and scent. As the sun sets, the city comes alive in a new way - from dazzling light shows at the Burj Khalifa and evening strolls along Dubai Marina to chic rooftop lounges and buzzing nightclubs, the nightlife scene is as glamorous as it is diverse. In Dubai, shopping and nightlife are more than pastimes - they’re part of the city’s vibrant identity.

Dubai is one of the world’s most dynamic travel destinations, offering a unique blend of cutting-edge innovation and rich Arabian heritage. With year-round sunshine, modern infrastructure, and endless attractions, Dubai is more than a destination; it is an experience that caters to every traveller. This trip was an incredible opportunity to discover a new destination and gain valuable experience. I highly recommend visiting Dubai at least once - I am confident you will fall in love with the city and feel inspired to return.
